Sycip clobbers Leonor 5-2, captures Independence Day 2007 Ambassador's Cup

Joseph Sycip, the Independence Day 2007 Ambassador's Cup Champion

Joseph Sycip totally demolished Morris Leonor 5-2 to win the annual Independence Day 2007 Ambassador’s Cup at the Centre Billard Carougeois. It was a neck to neck game with both players winning two racks each until Leonor scratched on the 9 ball to give his opponent a one rack advantage. Sycip then took advantage of this and wrapped up the next two racks.

In the other finals pair, Joey “Bataan Boy” Niespla blasted Frankie Federigan 3-0 to take the third place. Niespla seized control of the match from the first rack and never relinquished it all the way to the finish.

The Independence Day 2007 Ambassador’s Cup is an annual billiards competition organized by the Philippine Billiard Club of Geneva as part of the Araw ng Kalayaan festivities of the Filipino community. The PBC-Geneva would like to thank the pool players who participated in the tournament, the Centre Billard Carougeois, and lastly, our ambassador to the UN and other international organizations, H.E. Ambassador Enrique Manalo, who sponsored our event by donating the trophies. Maraming salamat po!!!!
