It was another fun-filled day of pool
competition at the Centre Carouge de Billard as the veteran cue
artist Morris Leonor crushed Leo Barroga 6-3 in the finals of the
6th Ambassador's Cup - Philippine Independence Day 9-Ball Tournament. Leonor easily took
the lead through his perfect pocketing and ball positioning. The
veteran was too much for the less-experienced Barroga.
Jimmy Menguita, on the other hand
blasted “Balikbayan” Banjo San Pedro to win the 3rd place. Menguita, moved quickly to surmount
the resistance of his opponent. It was a neck to neck battle until the 5th rack but Menguita grabbed the last 2 crucial
racks to win 5-3.
Again, the Philippine Billiard Club of Geneva thanks the supporters, players, and fans, for the succesful PID 9-Ball Tournament. We would like to specially thank His Excellency, Ambassador Evan Garcia of the Philippine Mission to the UN for his continuing support and Mr. Gael Grosjean of the Centre Carougeois de Billard for hosting the tournament. Also, let us thank our very own PJ Schatz for her excellent organizing efforts.
Lastly, Maraming Salamat at Mabuhay ang Kalayaan!!!
