From left, Joseph Sycip, 4th placer, Leo Barroga, 3rd placer, Ken Nanakorn, 1st placer, and Val Arceo, 2nd placerThailand’s Ken Nanakorn swept his way into the finals and then edged Philippines’ Val Arceo in a thrilling title showdown, 9-8, to rule the 6th All Asian 9 Ball Tournament today at the Centre Carougeois de Billard.
It was an astounding feat for the cue master from Bangkok as it was his second championship in a row. Only last month, Nanakorn also captured the 5th All Asian 8 Ball Tournament.
Another surprise was Philippine rookie Leo Barroga who took the 3rd place by nipping compatriot Joseph Sycip 7-6. It was Barroga’s first time to be in the finals of the Asian Tours.
Next month's tournament will be the annual Philippine Independence Day Ambassador’s Cup 8-Ball Invitational Tournament which is scheduled on the 7th of June, at 2 pm at the Centre Carougeois de Billard.
